Honorary coach’s passion for UAB shows in his work
Honorary coach Paul George is excited. He is excited to work for his alma mater. He is excited to see the children of graduates of the School of Engineering enroll at UAB. He is excited about the success of the second annual Blazer B.E.S.T. robotics competition. Most of all, he is excited that the Blazers defeated rival Memphis this season.

Worrell takes the plunge
Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance James Worrell doesn’t look too upset after getting dunked at the School of Business “Dunk Your Favorite Professor” event held Tuesday. The event was hosted by the school’s chapter of the American Marketing Association and is one of the many campus-wide events being held during Homecoming week.

Soldiers share same stories, different eras for patriotic tribute
Lt. Col. Kelly Donna, a two-tour Iraq veteran and Bronze Star recipient, has had the opportunity to share some of his memories at the Alabama Veterans’ Memorial Foundation’s Patriotic Tribute. This year the event will take place Sunday, Nov. 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alabama Veterans’ Memorial Park located off I-459 at the Liberty Parkway Exit.
