Berner appointed to AMIA Board
Eta S. Berner, Ed.D., professor of health informatics in the UAB Department of Health Services Administration and director of biomedical informatics for the UAB Center for Clinical and Translational Science, has been elected to a second term on the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Board of Directors. “As we seek improved access to care for more of our population through health-care reform, it is essential that we maximize the potential that health-information technology has to reduce medical errors, improve health-care quality and control costs," said Gerald L. Glandon, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Health Services Administration and interim director of the Health Informatics Program.

Pink Zone 2010 to be held Feb. 12
UAB Women's Basketball will join with the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center to host the WBCA Pink Zone® game against the UCF Knights at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 in Bartow Arena. Pink Zone is a global, unified effort initiated by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
