Mission: To promote patient care, research and education in the field of adult psychiatry.

Programs and Services:

  • Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services
  • Tertiary care for treatment resistant affective disorder, including ECT therapy
  • Dialectic Behavioral Therapy Program
  • Expertise in the Adult ADHD patient
  • A broad array of psychotherapy including intensive psychotherapy, psychopharmacology psychoanalysis, and cognitive-behavioral therapy
  • Forensic psychiatry
  • Active research program in schizophrenia
  • Anxiety disorders including OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Panic Disorder
  • Treatment of impaired professionals including, medical, legal, other professionals

Accomplishments:

  • The Adult Division has eight psychiatrists and one psychologist, all of whom specialize in adult psychiatry
  • Located in a world class hospital with a wide array of other specialties available for complicated diagnostic problems
  • Unique among university-based adult psychiatric treatment centers, one of the Adult Division’s psychiatrists is trained as a psychoanalyst.  This clinician is highly qualified to work with those patients whose treatment requires in-depth psychotherapy. Clinicians have years of experience in conducting intensive psychotherapy with patients who present with a broad spectrum of emotional problems.
