PGY-5 Year
This is a new program that has:
- Based in a Maximum Secure State Hospital (NOT a Prison)
- $48,750.00 salary plus all fringe benefits
- NO REQUIRED ON-CALL
- Primary work with 24 bed acute admissions unit, side by side with supervisor.
Rotation in local jail, District Attorney's office, Public Defender's office, juvenile court (with a Child Psychiatrist). Courses taught by Boarded Forensic Psychiatrists, Judges and attorneys from local Law School, as well as consultants from the Department of Corrections, Family Court, Civil Court, and Probate Court.
Opportunity to evaluate patients for Competency to Stand Trial, Competency to Waive Miranda Rights, Mental State at time of Offense, Competency to Proceed, Civil Competencies, Civil Commitment, and Malpractice Suits.
Teach 3rd and 4th year Medical Students, PGY 3 & 4 Psychiatry Residents, Family Practice Residents, Law & Nursing Students.
