Get your walking shoes out! The Department will be participating again in the Out of the Darkness Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Last year we had one of the largest teams, and we hope to have even more participation this year. The walk will be held Sunday, November 8th, at 3 P.M. at Heardmont Park in Pelham, Alabama. The Department's team, "Psychiatry in Motion," will join thousands of participants nationwide in raising money to benefit AFSP as well as raise awareness of depression and suicide. Our own Dr. Dan Dahl is President of the Alabama Chapter of AFSP and Dr. Monsheel Sodhi has received grant funding from the Foundation for her groundbreaking work on genetic predictors of suicide.
