As you read about our UAB success stories, you will find the key to our many nationally ranked programs and recognition: an unbounded imaginative spirit, a relentless commitment to learning, and the deep curiosity of faculty dedicated to empowering our students to better serve mankind.
Our faculty also understand that this generation of learners wants to meet challenges head-on in a global society, and they are willing to lead them there. At UAB the world is our classroom with numerous opportunities for exploration. At home and abroad, these discoveries not only enrich our students; they often result in humanitarian efforts that improve the quality of life for citizens of the world.
The diverse population on our campus also offers us a chance to broaden our horizons through contact with people from all walks of life. Almost one-third of our student body and 40% of our work force are minorities, and we enjoy numerous events throughout the year reflecting the cultures of the 121 countries represented on campus.
