The Vice President for Equity and Diversity provides leadership in the development, coordination, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive array of programs to promote diversity and understanding of differences at UAB.
The Vice President will report directly to the President on matters related to policy and vision and to the Provost on matters related to the management of programs.

The Vice President for Research is responsible for all day-to-day matters pertaining to sponsored-research activities carried out by UAB faculty, staff, students and post-doctoral scholars. The Vice President works closely with the dean of the Graduate School to integrate the research and educational missions of UAB and leads the efforts of the Research Advisory Group to promote and facilitate research collaborations among schools. The Vice President also is the reporting official for the director of the UAB Research Foundation to facilitate commercial development of novel research findings.
