UAB Announces Linney as Interim Dean for New College of Arts & Sciences

On November 10, 2009, Provost Eli Capilouto announced that Jean Ann Linney, Ph.D., dean of the UAB School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, will serve as interim dean of the university's new College of Arts and Sciences effective Jan. 1, 2010.  Click here for more information.

UAB Announces Realignment
Three schools at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) - Arts and Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Natural Science and Mathematics - will merge into one College of Arts and Sciences, President Carol Z. Garrison announced on October 14, 2009. A fourth, the School of Education, will retain its school identity as a distinct unit, but within the new college.

New expenditure reimbursement guidelines effective May 1
Several new expenditure reimbursement guidelines to improve service and efficiency for all UAB faculty, staff and students will become effective May 1. Changes were based upon recommendations of a universitywide task force and endorsed by Provost Eli Capilouto and Vice President for Financial Affairs and Administration Richard Margison. Online Disclosure for External or Internal Activity/Sponsored Research Submission
On January 2, 2009, UAB launched a new online process for faculty and staff to disclose external or internal consulting activities and sponsored research submissions.  Online forms are now available for submission. more...
