The University of Alabama School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Spain Rehabilitation Center, has one of only eight accredited Spinal Cord Injury Medicine Fellowships in the country. We also house the National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center which collects and analyzes the data from all of the SCI Model Systems in the country. The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation currently holds over $3.4 million in grant funding with another possible $1.7 million pending.
The Spinal Cord Injury Medicine Fellowship was voluntarily withdraw last year.
