Personal:
Dr. Marcela Frazier is originally from Medellin, Colombia. She completed a pediatric residency at The UAB School of Optometry. Her interests include amblyopia treatment, vision screenings, and vision care for Hispanic children. She is a board member and regular volunteer for Cahaba Valley Health care, a community based organization that provides access to health care to Latinos in parts of Alabama. She has been on several mission trips with VOSH to Nicaragua, Peru, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, and Colombia.

Research:
- Perceived barriers related to seeking eye care for their children among Hispanic parents. This study includes a Focus-Group Assessment of the barriers that preclude Hispanic parents from seeking eye care for their children. This assessment will be used to develop a culturally relevant educational intervention aimed at improving eye care for these children.
