Personal:
I have the privilege of heading the Orientation and Mobility (O&M) component of the Vision Science Research Center's Outreach Module. Orientation and Mobility is offered state wide, therefore, I frequently work outside of my office. There is a critical shortage of O&M professionals and UAB is quickly becoming a top producer of Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialists. I am excited to be a part of this effort. On a more personal note, I have two sons. Tyler is 14 years old, and he is the State Trap Shooting Champion and ranked 3rd in the nation. Michael is 12 years old, and he is interested in baseball, basketball, and girls. They are great kids. One of my primary interests outside of work is getting "Taylor's Law" passed during this legislative session. Taylor's Law would tie children's school behavior to the age at which they would be eligible to apply for a driver's permit or a driver's license.
