UAB Eyecare

Affiliated Clinics

UAB Eye Care has several affiliated clinics in the Birmingham area and around the state.  These clinics, in cooperation with the providers on those sites, help provide patients with an overall wellness program.

There is an affiliated clinic on the campus of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB). Comprehensive eye care is provided for residential students from the Alabama School for the Blind, The Alabama School for the Deaf, The Helen Keller School and the E.H. Gentry Special Technical Facility. Vision assessments are provided for sensory impaired infants and children from around the State who are referred to AIDB for comprehensive evaluations.

There is also an affiliated clinic at several Jefferson County Health Department sites as a part of Community Eye Care.  The Northern Health Clinic (located in north Birmingham), Western Health Clinic (located in Ensley), and the Bessemer Health Clinic (located in Bessemer) are multidisciplinary public health clinics where we partner with the health department to provide eye and vision care to area residents.

Another affiliated clinic is at LincPoint, the Cerebral Palsy of Birmingham location.  We provide services for their clients (both adults and children) at various times throughout each month.

UAB Eye Care is also a partner with several programs in the area, including Head Start, Vocational Rehabilitation, Sight Savers, and Youth Services to name a few.  We are also proud to provide eye care for the residents of Big Oak Ranch.
