MSN graduates who wish to take a designated program of study in preparation for sitting for one of the nurse practitioner certifications should apply for non-degree status. Admission is competitive.
Programs of Study for the Post-MSN Nurse Practitioner Specialties include all didactic and clinical practice courses for the selected specialty including the residency. Additional coursework includes NUR 613 Pharmacology and Therapeutics and NUR 614 Advanced Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning. These two courses may be waived if previous coursework has covered the content.

Academic Standards
Post-MSN non-degree graduate students are subject to the same academic policies as degree-seeking students. The policies are stated in the School of Nursing Catalog. Grading standards will be the same for non-degree and for degree-seeking graduate students.
