Dr. Jill Ross, Assistant Professor, University of Alabama School of Nursing at UAB was awarded the 2007 President's Award for Excellence in Teaching on Monday April 23rd at the Faculty Awards Convocation in the Sirote Theatre of the Alys Stephens Center. Nominated by SON students and UAB clinical staff, Dr. Ross, has been a member of the SON faculty since 2002. Students recommending Dr. Ross noted that "through her contagious enthusiasm for nursing, she demonstrates exemplary classroom and clinical instruction with stimulating questions and memorable events in lecture and clinical. She makes the nursing of childbearing families come alive and is inspirational in her commitment to the health of families in hospital and community-based settings." UAB professional nursing staff said: " Dr. Ross is a role model and mentor for students and professional nursing staff, always demonstrating a competent, compassionate caring approach with everyone she meets."
