It is with great pleasure that I forward this official notification of the re-designation of University of Alabama's School of Nursing at Birmingham as a PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center for International Nursing. We are indeed fortunate to have faculty and students with this global commitment that helps us meet our mission in preparing nurses to provide compassionate, competent care and improve health outcomes in Alabama and beyond. A special thanks to Dr. Lynda Harrison, as Deputy Director of the WHOCC and for her sustained focus on the development of international nursing for faculty and students. Please join me in celebrating this re-designation.
