“As we enter 2006-2007 academic year, our new structure for academic leadership will fortify the school’s mission for the future. The newly created strategic agenda will build on our vision, to strengthen the education, research, and service missions within the context of UAB”s Academic Health Center and the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Education. We must embrace the skills of leadership - the openness to learning and adaptation with an eye to the future for the discovery and application of knowledge that improves the health care. I look forward to a promising future as we educate tomorrow’s nurses – nurses who will provide compassionate care and improve the quality of care and health outcomes for the people of Alabama and beyond.”
The vision for UAB School of Nursing is to the leader in nursing education in the United States. To become the leader we need to be able to recruit the best, the brightest, and the most committed students and faculty. Over the past 10 years through the generosity and active support of our Board of Visitors, Alumni, and dedicated community members. Each year we have been able to provide over $350,000 in scholarship, professorship, lectureship and vital nursing programs. Yet it is critical that we increase the support for the School of Nursing.
