We all take great pride in the strength and growth of UAB's research enterprise, and we all share in the responsibility to sustain it. Adequate infrastructure is important to this endeavor, as is ongoing education and training related to effort reporting and "other support" submissions. We want you to be aware of the new initiative in this regard-a web-based orientation - Required of:
- All faculty;

Monthly paid staff and students who receive salary or wages from grants or sponsored programs other than fellowships or scholarships, and

Administrative staff involved in grant preparation and/or documentation of effort/other support.
The web-based orientation can be accessed at the following website:

Click on "Research"

Scroll down and click "Effort Reporting" under the "Regulatory Training" category.

You will have to Register for the training by selecting the “Register for the course” link and follow the instructions. You will enter your Blazer ID and password.

You can then select the link on the Training Institute Registration page that states “Log on to Blackboard Vista to access the online course.

You will select the green “Click here to log in now” button.

Enter your Blazer ID (all lower case) and enter your Password. Hit Enter or select the “Submit” button.

Select the “Effort Reporting”training,

Follow the instructions on the page for completing the class online.
Once you have completed this training, please notify Ms. Karen Buckner at Bucknerk@uab.edu . This should be completed within 2 weeks of your hire date or your grant funding date.
