January, 2009 Visit by Dr. Jean Yan, Chief Nurse Scientist from the World Health Organization

On January 6, 2009, the School of Nursing and Sparkman Center for Global Health hosted a visit by Dr. Jean Yan, Chief Scientist for Nursing and Midwifery at the World Health Organization office in Geneva. During her visit, Dr. Yan met with Provost Eli Capiluto, with nursing faculty members who have been actively involved with the school's global health initiatives, and with the Advisory Group for the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center on International Nursing, and with the Leadership Group of the Sparkman Center for Global Health. Dr. Yan indicated that she was most impressed by the many global health activities evident in both the School of Nursing and on campus. Dr. Yan made an open presentation entitled "Primary Care: Nurses Leading the Way" that was attended by over 100 faculty, students, and community members. To hear this presentation, please click here.
