As students in the School of Nursing, online training for HIPAA and OSHA are required prior to entering into clinical areas. In order to assist you with accessing this training, the links below will help you through this process. At this time, the HIPAA training is a one-time requirement; however, the OSHA training should be taken on an annual basis.
HIPAA - Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act Training - This training session is completed only once prior to your entering the clinical setting. Click http://www.hipaa.uab.edu/training.htm for directions to assist you with navigating through this online training.
OSHA – Blood Borne Pathogens Testing - This online training session is completed annually prior to entering the clinical setting. Go to Distance Education Page and click "REGISTER" under OSHA Training for self registration and follow the instruction to complete this online training.
