UAB's site license for X-Win32 offers a PC X server solution for Windows PCs connecting to remote Unix and Linux host systems. X-Win32 also features a powerful, fully integrated SSH connection module for SSH sessions.
Besides a number of bug fixes, Version 9 offers new "LIVE" sessions. As the name implies, LIVE sessions do not die when your PC loses its connection with the host due to a Windows, power or network glitch. You simply reconnect by restarting the session. You can also manually suspend sessions (they keep running in the background on the host) and resume them later, even from a different machine. And for the first time, LIVE sessions let you display a full remote Unix or Linux desktop and work at LAN-like speed over relatively slow Internet connections.
Originally LIVE capability was going to be marketed as a separate product, Recon-X. But the decision was made to integrate Recon-X with X-Win32 for a better end-user experience (and lower cost).
You will need to get an updated license key to run LIVE Sessions. After installing X-Win32 LIVE and setting up your first LIVE Session, X-Win32 will let you know that you must update your license key in order to run a LIVE session (your other sessions will work with your existing license key). Simply click the "Click Here"" prompt. You will be connected to the StarNet website where you will be presented with an updated license key. Copy the key into the X-Win32 License dialog.
NOTE: Currently, LIVE sessions work with Linux, Solaris and FreeBSD hosts. Installation package for AIX, HP-UX, SCO Unix and others will become available over the coming months.

Note: For FreeBSD servers, use the LINUX installation package. But you MUST turn on the Linux support in FreeBSD.
