Adobe

UAB has negotiated a discounting program for Adobe products. Effective February 1, 2009 GovConnection is the authorized reseller under that agreement with Adobe. The agreement allows the UAB faculty/staff community to acquire, at a discount, all Adobe software titles that the company makes available to higher education institutions. This list includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Acrobat Standard for Windows and Mac
  • Acrobat Pro for Windows and Mac
  • Creative Suite Premium for Windows and Mac
  • Photoshop CS for Windows and Mac
  • Illustrator CS for Windows and Mac
  • InDesign CS for Windows and Mac
  • Pagemaker for Windows and Mac

Pursuant to the agreement, the software may only be installed on university-owned computers. Prices are subject to change and thus cannot be posted on this site. A license must be ordered for each PC on which the software will be installed. The media (CDs) to perform the installation are not included with the license, but can be ordered separately if needed.  Generally, Adobe/GovConnection will notify you by email after the order is accepted. You can obtain current pricing and product numbers by following these steps:

  • Go directly to GovConnection's website. First-time users to the website will need to create a user account and enter appropriate shipping information. Ship-to addresses should only be valid UAB addresses.
  • Select the license (and media if necessary) and add them to your cart. (NOTE: if you are ordering a larger qty of product please contact the account rep at GovConnection directly for potential additional savings. The rep's contact info is shown at the top of each webpage.)
  • Either click on CONTINUE SHOPPING to add additional items or after all items have been selected click on BEGIN SECURE CHECKOUT
  • Edit the Shipping Information if necessary and then click CONTINUE
  • Click SKIP STEP as no PO# is necessary at this time
  • To generate a request for quote and save your cart click REQUEST QUOTE...DO NOT CLICK SUBMIT ORDER.
  • You can enter any information you want in the NOTE TO ACCOUNT MANAGER section or leave it blank.
  • Click SUBMIT FOR QUOTE. Once completed you can exit the GovConnection website. An email will be returned to you with your quote information. Print out the email/quote to attach to your Oracle PO Request. You can return to the GovConnection website at anytime to see the status of your order.
  • Next, place the order as normal through the UAB Oracle system using the email/quote (use vendor # 29838).  To prevent delays in the delivery of your department's Adobe software, please note the following:
    • Software item numbers are required
    • The default shipping address is 212 15th Street South, University Receiving - do not override the default
    • Order method should be FAX only
  • Once the Oracle order receives proper approvals, UAB Procurement will place the order directly with GovConnection.
  • Once the order is processed and accepted by Adobe you will receive an email with instructions.
