Start Outlook Express
Pull down the
Tools
menu and select
Accounts

Select the
Mail
tab and click
Add
then
Mail

Enter
Display Name
, click
Next

Enter full UAB
Email Address
, click
Next

In the
Email Server Names
window enter (

My Incoming Mail server is:
choose (HTTP, IMAP, or POP3)
Incoming Mail Server:
mail.ad.uab.edu
Outgoing Mail Server:
relay.ad.uab.edu
Then click
Next
Enter Account Name-full email address
Next, click Finish (

In the
Internet Accounts
window, select the account you just set up and click
Properties

In the Properties window, click the Advanced tab (

Under
Outgoing mail
, check
This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
and change the port from 25 to 587.
Under
Incoming mail
, check
This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
Under
Delivery
, check
Leave a copy of messages on server
and choose appropriate Remove option
Lastly, click
Apply
and
OK
Close the
Internet Accounts
window. You are ready to begin using UAB Email.
