File Transfer Mode You need to know the following information only if you use WS_FTP or FETCH FTP programs to upload your web page files. Browsers and page-creation software usually have this information built in. - .html or .htm files should be transfered in ASCII text mode.
- .jpg and .gif files, and any other non-text files such as sound or video, should be transfered in Binary mode.
Use your RELOAD or REFRESH button
Once you've uploaded your new web pages, be sure to hit your browser's RELOAD or REFRESH button. You may see an older copy of your file that is stored in your PC's cache; the reload operation makes sure that you are seeing the newest version of the page that is available.
Remove Old Files by Rename or Delete
Whenever you upload webpages to your web directory on your DPO account, first delete or rename existing pages if these files have the same name. Some ftp clients default to preventing you from overwriting existing files. After renaming or removing the old files, upload the new files into the web directory.
