October 20, 2009 marked the second annual National Cybersecurity Awareness day, hosted by Information Technology. This year's event was a huge success with several outside speakers and a focus on the UAB student population.
Tammy Clark from Georgia State University traveled to speak on the cost of preventing security breaches in higher education. The students and staff enjoyed information on security and forensics careers, discussed by National Computer Forensics Institute's Jason Justus and Barry Page. UAB Information Security staff shared information related to a wide range of security issues, from email security to safety in social networking.
