On Monday, January 5th and Wednesday, January 7th, Information Technology will hold its third and fourth town hall meetings to discuss issues related to the upcoming laptop encryption effort. The January 5th meeting will be held in the GSB 2nd floor training room at 2:30 p.m. The January 7th meeting will be held in Cudworth Hall (CEC) 140 at 2:00 p.m. The meetings, co-hosted by Assistant Vice President for Information Technology, Sallie Wright, and Health Systems Security Officer and UAB HIPPA Officer, Terrell Herzig, will give attendees the opportunity to discuss preliminary planning information including changes in policies and recommended best practices for encryption deployment.
Attendance is crucial to the success of this important university-wide program. Attendees should come prepared to discuss the number of laptops deployed in respective departments and the percentage of devices that are currently encrypted.
