Occupational Health and Safety's mission is to ensure that everyone on campus has a safe workplace by providing them with the service and knowledge necessary to protect themselves, the UAB community and the environment.
Key functions of the department include fire and safety; radiological, biological, and chemical safety; safe disposal of biohazardous redioactive and chemical wastes; and establishment of procedures for safe work practices
