Graduate Nursing Students Get Online Writing HelpGraduate nursing students who are used to jotting notes on patient charts may face a tough re-entry when they start writing scholarly papers. In Spring 2011, they can receive writing coaching and instruction via a new online course tailored to the needs of doctoral and doctor of nursing practice (DNP). Offered by the UAB Graduate School’s Professional Development Program, GRD 727 QN, Writing and Reviewing Research, is a 10-week, pass-no pass, 3-credit hour elective. Students leverage reading from core courses to work on real writing projects with peer and instructor feedback, says instructor Dr. Jan Jenner.
