UAB is known as a research-intensive university, committed to the discovery of new knowledge. The Graduate School currently administers doctoral programs in 38 areas, education specialist programs in 7 areas, and master's level programs in 42 areas. UAB also supports interdisciplinary research centers. Our programs attract outstanding faculty and students and unite disciplines to produce new knowledge and new technologies. Several programs are in place which are designed to promote and support a diverse student body and to increase the participation of underrepresented populations in graduate programs.
