Charles Mason, Ph.D., is superintendent of Mountain Brook Schools in suburban Birmingham. He is a past president of the Alabama Association of School Administrators and was named Alabama Superintendent of the Year in 2004 by the American Association of School Administrators. In December 2004 he began a term on the National Staff Development Council Board of Trustees and is its president for 2009. Mason is one of a national group of school superintendents participating in the Cisco Superintendents Network. He received his Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Georgia and an Ed.S. from Georgia State University in educational administration. He completed a master of arts in teaching at Vanderbilt University and received his bachelor of arts in history/English from Western Kentucky University. |
