Need-Based Loans, Grants, and Programs There are loans, grants, and programs available to students who demonstrate financial need. Take advantage of the low interest rates and long-term payment options if you qualify for a need-based loan. If you qualify for a grant, unlike a loan, you do not have to repay the money. Work-study is also a major resource for students who qualify to participate in this program since it allows them to work on-campus. In order to qualify for any of these, all you need to do is complete your FAFSA. If you have questions, please contact Financial Aid located at 317 Hill University Center at 205-934-8223.
Non-Need-Based Loans, Grant, and ProgramsLow interest rates and long-term payment plans are a definite benefit to these loans for students considered non-need-based. Grants and programs are more limited for students deemed without financial need, but some do exist. Once again, you will need to complete your FAFSA in order to qualify for these. If you have questions, please contact Financial Aid located at 317 Hill University Center at 205-934-8223.
