Collaborations and Training

A major objective of the Human Physiology Core is to act as a platform for promoting multi-disciplinary research and training in diabetes research across the UAB campus, and to attract new investigators to the area of diabetes research. The Core will offer advice and training to graduate students, fellows, and investigators on the specific technologies that pertain to their research. Furthermore, trainees will be encouraged to spend time in the laboratory, learning various techniques in the context of their own research projects that will be important for their future independent research. Core staff routinely works with trainees, and is experienced with instruction and guidance in Core methodology.  The Human Physiology Core also will provide training that will benefit DRTC faculty investigators across campus. The Core will help investigators understand and/or establish in their own laboratories basic techniques when appropriate.
