Children’s Hospital of Alabama
The main site for CPODD services is the Children’s Hospital of Alabama (CHA) within the Children’s Health System, located in the heart of Birmingham, adjacent to the UAB campus. CHA is a 275 bed, private, non-profit hospital, with seven floors of patient units, outpatient areas, laboratories, and support facilities. As a teaching and research hospital, CHA is a tremendous asset to the state and the Southeast. It serves as the primary teaching facility for UAB’s Department of Pediatrics. The Children’s Harbor Center at CHA houses the Center for Pediatric Research and Innovation, a dedicated research facility for the UAB pediatric faculty and staff.
