Yolanda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Samford University in Birmingham, AL and worked for 2 years in adult care before pursuing a career in pediatrics in Children's Hospital in intensive care step-down. After eight years of experience in bedside nursing and mentoring and precepting students and new graduate nurses, she decided to pursue her advanced degree in pediatrics. She received specialized training in Acute and Continuing Care as well as training in Adolescent Medicine through a LEAH (Leadership in Adolescent Health) fellowship. She is currently receiving specialized training to become an MS certified nurse through the John Dystel Fellowship program. In the future, she hopes to become one of the leading pediatric nurse experts in the field of pediatric MS and other de- myelinating illness that may effect patients cared for by CPODD and all over the U.S.
Services offered: Yolanda does direct patient care at clinic visits, as well as on-going education and symptoms management concerning illness and disease process that may effect patients after being seen.
