
Laurie Lou Smith is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Psychometry and an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from the University of Alabama. She is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists. She is married and lives with her husband and two basset hounds. They enjoy boating and watching Alabama football.
Services offered: She works with CPODD as a liaison between hospital and school systems. She acts as a bridge between physicians, educators, and families to ensure appropriate educational goals and expectations are implemented for each child. She determines if your child is receiving appropriate school services. She works with the family to determine educational options. Laurie Lou educates the school on MS, demyelinating diseases, accomodations, and modifications your child may need. She also works with the school to develop appropriate educational plans, and provides phone consultations for families. She is also available to meet with schools.
