Connie graduated from UAB in 1989 with a Master's in Physical Therapy. She has since worked at the Children's Hospital of Alabama for over 16 years, in a variety of patient care. She currently coordinates the inpatient Physical Therapy department and treats patients. Her experience includes inpatient, clinical, and outpatient care and she has worked with a variety of rehab patients, orthopedic patients, and premature infant patients. Aside from CPODD, Connie has worked in a number of clinics, including weight management, Down's, Muscular Dystrophy, orthopedics, and Spina bifida. She is particularly interested in fitness for youth and teens with all types of diagnosis. To avoid the Alabama heat, Connie particularly enjoys working with her patients in an aquatic setting.
Services offered: Since demyelinating diseases sometimes affect the spinal cord, patients can lose strength and feeling of their arms and legs. Connie works closely with those patients and their families to develop exercises to increase strength and mobility during and following the onset of demyelination.
