Through UAB's coordinated degree programs, outstanding students with appropriate career goals may be allowed to pursue two advanced degrees concurrently. (The general policy is that students pursue only one degree at a time).
The majority of these programs permit students to pursue both a research degree (such as the Ph.D. or M.S.) and a professional degree (such as the M.D., O.D, or M.P.H.) simultaneously. The Graduate School is eager to cooperate with all qualified students who wish to extend their professional capabilities into the area of independent scholarship, originality, and research characterizing graduate study.
