UAB's School of Business is accredited at the baccalaureate and master's level by AACSB International and holds separate AACSB International accreditation of the undergraduate and master's programs in accounting. AACSB International is the largest and the longest standing specialized accrediting agency for business and accounting programs in the world and represents the highest standard of achievement. Professional education in business administration is offered through the Departments of Accounting and Information Systems; Finance, Economics, and Quantitative Methods; Management and Organization; and Marketing and Industrial Distribution.
Our unique location allows our faculty to integrate the practical experiences of the State's leading companies - from Fortune 500 corporations to entrepreneurial startups - into every program we offer. Students graduate from our programs with strong academic backgrounds and valuable hands-on experience.
Undergraduate
The school offers programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, economics, finance, industrial distribution, information systems, management, and marketing. Specific areas of concentration are offered in accounting, economics, finance, industrial distribution, information systems, and management. Each program combines a broad exposure to the arts and sciences with comprehensive preparation in all areas of business.
Graduate
At the graduate level, programs of study leading to the Master of Business Administration and Master of Accounting degrees are offered. Programs resulting in a dual degree are offered in cooperation with the School of Public Health (MPH/MBA), the School of Health Professions (MSHA/MBA) and the School of Nursing (MSN/MBA).
Doctoral
The school offers a Ph.D. degree in Administration-Health Services jointly with the School of Health Professions.
Certificate Programs
In addition to the above mentioned academic programs, the school offers certificate programs through the UAB Center for Sales Leadership and the Department of Executive Education.
