Industrial Distribution’s Business Analysis Laboratory
The Business Analysis Laboratory offers a very unique learning experience at UAB. Located in the Innovation Depot, the Lab provides a setting for students and faculty from the colleges of Business and Engineering to work together in cross-functional teams to help companies solve real business problems. The Lab is designed to:
- Enhance the learning environment for UAB students by providing cross-functional team building experiences and leadership opportunities. Lab students will learn how to conduct research, manage projects and develop strategic recommendations. For each project, students will interact with high level business executives during the semester and will provide a semester-ending report and presentation.
- Aid regionally-based partner companies in solving product, distribution, process-engineering and customer-based problems. As a partner in the Lab, managers will not only have bright, talented students research important business problems, but also provide an opportunity to preview potential candidates for employment. In addition, partnering companies will have the opportunity to tap into professors’ knowledge of new academic thoughts on business and engineering.
- Provide additional curricular development and research problem-framing opportunities for UAB faculty in the Colleges of Business, Engineering and others.
