  • Each year the Finance faculty selects a graduating senior to receive departmental honors in the form of the Outstanding Finance Student Award.
  • The Financial Executives Institute Award offers a cash honorarium to an outstanding student as selected by the faculty.
  • The senior with the highest GPA will be the recipient of the Wall Street Journal Achievement Award and receive a free one year subscription to the Wall Street Journal in addition to the award.
  • The Alabama Society of Financial Analysts Award is presented to a student interested in pursuing a career in investments or portfolio management. The recipient is offered the choice of a $250 cash award or an all expenses paid scholarship for Level I of the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) exam.
  • An honors student with a proven record of extracurricular and community service will be presented with the David J. Vanzandt Financial Scholar Award.
  • Another honors student will receive the Thomas A. Fetherston Scholarship.  This scholarship in the amount of $500 is presented to a student judged by the faculty to best represent the principles and ideals of finance students.
  • In honor of retired finance department chair Kendall Pat Hill, an MBA finance student will be honored with the K.P. Hill Outstanding MBA Finance Student Award.
  • In honor of the benevolence of Stephen Chazen towards our undergraduate programs, one outstanding undergraduate alumnus will receive the Stephen M. Chazen Distinguished Alumni Award each year.
