Lab Research Focus: Plasma Lipoprotein Structure/Function We utilize peptide analogs, site-directed mutagenesis and molecular modeling to study structure/function of apolipoproteins and to determine if the fusion domain of HIV is a novel-? wedge structure. Additional research includes: inhibition of viral fusion by apolipoprotein analogs, structural studies of the cytotoxic and antibacterial activities of lytic peptides, and analyzing the properties of lipoproteins isolated from human atherosclerotic plaque.
