Campus Dining Fee
For the 2007-2008 academic year, all enrolled students residing in on-campus housing, AND all undergraduate students taking twelve (12) or more credit hours who do not reside on campus will be assessed a $225 Campus Dining Fee during fall and spring semesters. Campus Dining Fee funds can be accessed throught the student's CampusCard Dining Dollars account.
Dining Dollars
Dining Dollars is a declining balance account that can be used for purchases at all UAB dining facilities. The Dining Dollars account is used for accessing Campus Dining Fee funds only. Individuals who wish to add additional funds to their CampusCard can do so through their CampusCard Blazer Bucks account.

Meal Plan Participation
for the 2007-2008 academic year, all **freshmen students residing in on-campus housing will be required to purchase a meal plan and must select either Plan 1 or 2. All other enrolled students residing in on-campus housing, will be required to purchase a meal plan and must select from plans 1 through 5.
**Students who meet all three of the following criteria are classified as first time UAB freshmen and will be assigned to freshman housing for the academic year in question, if they choose to reside on campus:
- Student graduated high school within the last 4 academic years
- Student is transferring in less than 12 credit hours taken at another university post high school graduation
- Student has not attended UAB during a previous academic year, excluding the summer term immediately preceding the academic year in question
Enrolled students not residing on campus can elect to purchase any one of the 5 meal plans during fall and spring semesters, if they so choose.

Meal Plans come with a set number of MEALS that can be used to purchase all-you-care-to-eat meals and Meal Deals at UAB dining facilities.
All-you-care-to-eat meals are available at the Commons on the Green for dinner seven nights a week and weekend brunch. One Meal is debited from the students plan upon entrance and the student has unlimited access to all available items.
Meal Deals are available at the Commons for breakfast and lunch during the week and at the Diner and Blazer Cafe at all times while they are open. One Meal is debited from the student's account for each Meal Deal purchased. Meal Deals are specially designed combo meals available at all servery stations in the aforementioned locations.
Meals do not carry-over from semester to semester. Unused Meals for any given term will be removed from the student's meal plan account on the day following the last day of final exams for that term.
