Financial Aid & Scholarships

How do you plan to pay for college? It's something everyone has to think about, no matter your background or situation. Every year, UAB awards approximately $99 million dollars in merit-based scholarships and need-based financial aid. We want to empower you with the tools to locate as many sources of aid as possible. The thing to remember is that you have lots of options - and you may be eligible for more assistance than you think. By planning early, you'll be better prepared. Recovery Act Opportunities

Many UAB students will be benefited by various aspects of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (economic stimulus package) recently passed by Congress.  Please review the items below to determine which benefits you might be eligible for and should pursue.  Please note:  Undergraduate stduents who wish to receive consideration for Pell Grant funding or federal work-study funding must forward the results of their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to UAB (school code 001052).  If you have not already filed the FAFSA, you may access the form at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
