The CONNECTIONS program at UAB is a great way for students attending Jefferson State Community College or Lawson State Community College to stay "connected" to UAB as they anticipate transferring here!
Students who decide to participate in the CONNECTIONS program have access to many UAB events and support services, and a UAB staff member keeps office hours at the various campuses of both community colleges to better aid students who want to complete their bachelors degree at UAB.

How to Make Your Move
To participate in CONNECTIONS, you must (1) be enrolled at Jefferson State Community College or Lawson State COmmunity College and (2) meet with your academic advisor at least once a semester. To be eligible to transfer to UAB, you must have an overall GPA of at least 2.0. It is preferable that you earn your associate's degree before transferring, but if you choose to transfer before you earn your associate's degree, you must have earned at least 24 semester hours of credit. Some UAB majors, such as Business, Engineering, and Education, require a higher GPA to begin upper-level classes, so contact your UAB advisor with any questions about curriculum or your progress in the program.
"I've received so much helpful advice about course requirements, scholarship opportunities, and activities on the UAB campus. It has just been a rewarding experience for me, and I'd recommend it to any student." - Brian McCord ~ Birmingham, AL
