Congratulations on being accepted to UAB. Now it's your turn to take advantage of the university's experiences and opportunities. And New Student Orientation will help you make a great start. New Student Orientation is the most important step in becoming a Blazer. It's designed to connect you to the university and prepare you for success. During your session, you will
- meet with faculty and academic advisors;
- register for classes;
- discuss academic expectations;
- discover resources designed to help you succeed;
- build a network of valuable campus contacts;
- explore opportunities and organizations that can help you get involved on campus;
- meet other students and build new friendships;
- set up your Blazer e-mail; your CampusCard, and more.
New Student Orientation is required for ALL degree-seeking students (except postbaccalaureate students), so you should plan for it early. Attending an earlier session will give you priority registration, which means a better selection of classes at preferred times. The number of students at each session is limited so that your academic advisor and other campus representatives can work closely with you.
