At UAB, we want support your success in every way possible so we recommend that you make an individual appointment to talk with or meet with your academic advisor before you attend New Student Orientation. It’s your chance to discuss your goals and start developing an educational plan to reach those goals. When you visit with your advisor, whether in person or on the phone, ask questions about potential majors, degree requirements, and the classes you should enroll in during your first semester and if there are placement tests you need to take at New Student Orientation. In short, your advisor is one of the most important connections to make as you start the path toward academic success!
