The 2008 Dollars for Scholars 5K/10K was held on Friday, April 25 in the Pepper Place District of Downtown Birmingham. This year's event attracted 505 runners and raised over $45,000 that will go directly toward UAB student scholarships.
The post-race party was held on the patio of the Cantina, with food and drinks donated from local businesses and restaurants. Big Daddy's New Band provided music and a great atmosphere for everyone to dance the night away.
Last year the proceeds from Dollars for Scholars helped the NAS provide over $450,000 in student scholarships & grants. The NAS is proud to have had even greater success this year. The 3rd Annual UAB Dollars for Scholars is already scheduled for Friday, April 24th, 2009 so mark your calendars now!
