Dr. Michelle Reeves Cooper (OD, Optometry, '94) was named 2009 Secretary/Treasurer for the SC Optometric Association (SCOA).

Dr. Samuel Durso, MD, MBA, AGSF, (MD, Medicine, '81) received the Dennis W. Jahnigen Memorial Award at 2009 American Geriatric Society Annual meeting.  

Jason Green (BS, Accounting, '93) has been promoted to the position of Director, Financial and Operational Audit Services, at Waste Management in Houston, Texas. 

James Greenwell (BA, Political Science, '96) has been named to the Georgia State University athletics staff as Senior Associate Director of Athletics.

Rebecca Grizzard (BS, Accounting, '08) joined Dent, Baker & Company as a staff accountant for the Birmingham-based accounting firm.

Kimberly Newton McMurray (MBA, Business, '01) has joined The S/L/A/M Collaborative, a leading design firm for healthcare, education and science & technology, as Healthcare Practice Leader in the Atlanta Office.

Lindsay McNeal Ison (MS, Physical Therapy, '01) received her board certification in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialist (ABPTS).

Julie Ann Nastasi (Low Vision Cert, Health Professions, '07) Associate Director/Clinical Education Coordinator of Mercy College's Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, has earned Specialty Certification in Low Vision from the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Dilhani Jayamanne Uswatte (MAE, Educational Leadership, '04) was inducted into the Jacksonville State University Hall of Fame for Teachers as the Outstanding Middle School Teacher for the state of Alabama.

Dr. James Vaught (OD, Optometry, '83) was named 2009 President-Elect for the SC Optometric Association (SCOA).
