Glenn C. Sisk (B.S., Health Professions, Administration Health Services, ‘90) has been elected Secretary / Treasurer of the Alabama Hospital Association.

*Dr. Marvin L. Barron (D.M.D., Dentistry, ‘57) has been honored with Gold Certificate Ceremony by the Alabama Dental Association.

William R. Massey (M.A.C., Business, Accounting, '03) has been promoted to Senior Manager at MDA Professional Group, P.C.

Dr. Ken H. Tucker (M.B.A., Business, ‘85) has been appointment as professor of management and dean of the College of Business at The University of West Alabama.

Dr. Daniel C. Weaver (M.D., Medicine ‘87) has joined the Bibb Medical Center Medical Staff as Emergency Room Director.

*Dr. Marina L. Falany (M.D., Medicine ‘04) has opened her own practice and has joined the Brewton Medical Center staff.

Michael W. Duke (B.S., Business, Economics ‘85) has been hired as Chief Financial Officer for the Cullman Savings Bank.

Susan D. Jones (M.P.H.., Public Health, ‘05) has been hired as Director of the Office of Faith-Based Service and Learning at Judson College.

Dr. Chad Brewer (B.S., Natural Sciences & Mathematics, Biology, ‘98) has recently opened Rogersville Eye Clinic with Dr. Chad Davis.

Dr. David L. Spencer (M.D., Medicine, ‘05) has been named the recipient of the 2007 Robert S. Caldwell MD Memorial Award by Medical Assurance Company of Mississippi.

Dr. Christopher K. Power (M.D., Medicine, ‘05) has been named Medical Director for Correct Care at the Fayette Medical Center Emergency Department.

* Dr. James G. Chambers (M.D., Medicine, ‘74) was named the 132nd President of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.

 

Mr. Ty Walling (E.D.S, Education Specialist, ‘00) was selected to chair the Psychiatric Constituency Section of the Alabama Hospital Association.

 

*Ms. Whitney L. Weldon (B.A., Communication Studies, ‘02) received high marks & received the honor of fourth runner up at the 2007 Miss Alabama competition.

 

Mr. Haynes Parnell, III (B.S., Social & Behavioral Sciences, Political Science, ‘83) was recently named Treasurer of the Community Bankers Association of Alabama.

Colonel John W. Proctor, III (M.P.H., Public Health, ‘92) recently retired from the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps after an over 20 year military career.

*Mr. Thomas F. Callison (M.B.A., Business, ‘05) on the successful first anniversary of your civil engineering firm, Callison Engineering.

Ms. Quinn Killough (B.S., Nursing, ‘05) has accepted a new position at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC in the Pediatric Progressive Care Unit.

*Dr. John R. Wheat (M.D., Medicine ‘76) received the 2007 Distinguished Educator Award from the National Rural Health Association.

Ms. Angela R. Green (B.A., Arts & Humanities, Communication Studies '02) has joined the CBS 8 News Team as News Anchor for the 5 o'clock evening news.

Ms. Leah S. Keith (E.D.S., Education Specialist, Educational Leadership, ‘05) has been promoted to Principal of the Arab Primary School.

*Ms. Rebecca A. Bell (B.S., Science, Biology, ‘07) graduated magna cum laude on May 5, 2007.

Ms. Susan D. Grindel (M.P.H., Public Health, ‘87) received the state award for Nurse Practitioner Excellence from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Jan H. Westerman (M.D., Medicine, ‘85) has taken on the initiative to work with four other doctors to open an urgent care clinic in Curry to give more immediate care to the Smith Lake area.

Michael D. Duke (B.S., Finance, ‘87) has been selected as Chief Financial Officer for the Cullman Savings Bank.

Ms. Stacy Lindenberg (B.A., Communication Studies, ‘97) has accepted a new position as Vice President of Sales & Leadership Training at First Citizens' Corporate Education Department.

Mr. Richard Burleson (M.P.H., Public Health, ‘02) has recently been appointed as Director of Alabama Child Death Review System. He has been with the Alabama Department of Public Health's Central Office for 13 years.
