Dr. Patterson is currently a licensed clinical psychologist at the Civitan-Sparks Clinics. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2006, completed her clinical internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2005, and received post doctoral training at UAB in 2006. While in graduate school, her research and clinical efforts focused on the emotional and behavioral functioning of children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Her current research, conducted with Dr. Bart Hodgens, is an extension of this line of research in that she is examining the behavioral functioning of children diagnosed with ADHD across subtypes. Clinically, Dr. Patterson provides individual outpatient therapy, consultation services, and comprehensive evaluations to children with developmental, behavioral, and emotional difficulties. She is also a supervisor for the UAB ADHD Summer Treatment Program.
