Dr. McCamish has over 20 years of experience in corporate management, academics, and clinical and pharmaceutical research since obtaining his first doctorate degree. This experience encompasses a broad range of international management organizations from the traditional hierarchical to the fully matrixed.

He is currently Global Development Leader at Amgen, Inc., the world's largest and most successful biotechnology company. He is responsible for clinical development of Aranesp in surgical and chronic disease indications. Previously he was responsible for late phase clinical development across product categories bridging between Development and Sales & Marketing after leading worldwide clinical development activities (Phases I - III) focused on leptin receptor-directed therapeutics for the treatment of obesity and diabetes.

Dr. McCamish was previously a Director with Abbott Laboratories (Ross Products Division) for 8 years. While at Abbott, his responsibilities were broad and included: worldwide clinical research, design and development of new products, complete oversight of medical affairs (product complaints, potential liability and customer support), interfacing with marketing and sales departments including Sales Training and Creative Services, and competitive product evaluation. His responsibility for clinical research included directing national and international clinical studies with various clinical applications evaluating medical devices, medical foods and novel substances, which required IND approval through FDA. His activities also included project management, strategic planning, technology assessment, licensing and business development contributions.

While in Ohio, he continued to hold an academic appointment as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology at The Ohio State University and maintained a clinical practice.

Previously, he was employed by the University of California at Davis and held various clinical, academic and research responsibilities contributing to the economic viability of the Division of Clinical Nutrition in the Department of Internal Medicine. This included generating income from clinical sources, NIH funding and laboratory services. He had management responsibilities for the Lipid Disorders Clinic and Eating Disorders Clinic as well as Vice Chairmanship of the Ethics Committee.

Previously, Michigan State University employed Dr. McCamish in the Department of Surgery where he established their Clinical Nutrition Laboratory that was self-supporting. He also developed the residency research-training program.

Dr. McCamish has degrees in Exercise Physiology, Ergonomics, Human Nutrition and Medicine. He has been married 25 years, has three children and enjoys family activities, cycling and automobile restoration.
